Trees are surprisingly difficult to photograph.
It’s one of those things I imagine would be easier to paint — if you’re good at painting — because it’s so easy to make trees look like green blobs dazzled by sunlight.
Today I thought I’d feature some photos I’ve taken featuring trees in the summer.
All these photos were taken on various bosque walks around the Rio Grande. It’s a beautiful area, and one never really knows what one’s going to get.
There are plenty of interesting animals living there, from toads to porcupines, something that sort of looked like a bobcat to coyotes.
The majority of the trees in the bosque are cottonwoods. They’re pretty, sturdy trees, that turn a spectacular yellow in autumn (which I am looking forward to sharing photos of here in a little bit).
While summer is the most active time to walk in the bosque — because of all the interesting insects and creatures you’ll see — it’s obviously bound to be warm.
The best thing to do, if one gets out a little too late and spends time in the heat, is to stop by somewhere and get a nice cold drink, and change into cooler, comfy clothes. One can also wade in the Rio Grande some time during the walk.
And now I feel like going for a walk…….
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Happy Friday!
