Well… I had planned on starting a facebook page this week, as mentioned in my blog post Going on an Adventure.
Then I realized I needed to pull some things together first.
I promise, I won’t put it off week after week. That was part of the point of making this part of growing my business ‘transparent’; to also keep me accountable.
And, in that spirit of accountability, I wanted to share some of my schedule ideas too.
I’ve never been overly-excited with the idea of working at a computer all day, for most of the week. Kind of ironic, considering I do most of my actual business online!
So, I am always trying to manage my time so that I am not going to be at a computer all day — something that will become more challenging as I work on my facebook and instagram pages.
So, to limit my time on the computer, I am going to try to keep to a careful schedule.
I’ve figured out a set of consistent posts to publish, which will simplify my task. Then, I will try to be active on my sight some time in the morning, some time in the afternoon, and some time in the evening but not too late.
That sounds very general, but my schedule has to be flexible.
Also, I had planned on starting my facebook and instagram pages at the same time or close to it. But I decided I would need to ‘acclimatize’ myself to running a facebook page. So, I will be starting up my facebook page next week, and my instagram page will arrive in August.
And to continue the idea of transparency…………
Along the way of building up my business slowly, I have come to realize that I am not one of those people who can juggle twenty things at the same time.
Obviously, I’d love to be able to manage more, but I can’t. And that’s OK.
That’s one of the main reasons why I try to restrict my time at the computer, or my time working on a project, etc.
Because, even if I can do it, I simply don’t work as well when I do.
In a world that is constantly on the move, I think it’s important to be aware of how much one can do — or how much one needs to do.
One of my main goals for my business is to inspire and encourage people to slow down, to enjoy the simple pleasures, and find — or make — time to rest. And if I want to inspire that, I also want to live it.
